Arrange your On-site testing periods
We will arrange with the client mutually convenient testing periods based on quantity, appliance types, the site size and environment etc.. For example it may be more convenient to perform IT Equipment or office equipment tests during out of office hours to reduce any disruption to employees - On-Site Testing can be arranged 24 Hours, 7 Days per Week (subject to availability) with NO extra charges for evening or weekend testing.
On-Site Portable Appliance Testing
The On-Site testing will take place using the very latest professional portable appliance testing equipment, in accordance with the IEE Code of Practice for Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. The testing equipment we use is computer controlled and very rapid in it's testing methods, reducing the time taken per appliance or piece of equipment. The expected quantity of items tested varies due to the circumstances, tests required, any faults found and overall accessibility of the equipment etc. The approximate average quantity is betwen 20 to 40 appliances per hour depending on the circumstances and environment.
All appliances and equipment are inspected as detailed in the Portable Appliance Testing section and are labelled accordingly. Faults found where possible will be rectified, incorrect fuses replaced, plugs replaced or rewired etc..
In certain situations access to the equipment is inhibited due to obstructions or location etc.. In order for such items to be tested it will be necessary for clients to arrange access to the equipment, cable, plug and the means of isolation. This may involve emptying and moving equipment in order to facilitate testing. For example, bottle fridges behind bars may need emptying and making accessible in advance of testing. All steps should be taken by the clients to identify, locate and make available all appliances for inspection and testing.
Any previous Portable Appliance Testing records should ideally be available for reference and to aid location of equipment where necessary.
